Paint, Pen and Ink: Three Blackbirds in the Garden of the Universe

Three Blackbirds break through the canvas
perched on rocks..
...they know my Soul
and I too
recognize them..

An Iris appears...rising up from the earth

Color begins to flow

green vapors and mists of creation encircle me

Almost done..a Work in Progress...

a mixture of paint..pen and ink..

Three Healing Blackbirds and Three Irises

All carry powers and gifts..

Nature has brought healing to my life

many times..

The Blackbirds called me
to the window

and the flowers pulled me out
into the Sun

The Wounded Blackbird in the front

is limping

and knows to go toward the Flowers

for healing and regeneration
inside the Garden of the Universe

*The Blue and White bird brings Transformation and Creation

*The Green winged bird brings Harmony and Balance

*and the Purple-Lavender bird

brings the Mystical and Magical Energy

As she came to life I began to fall in love with

the olive tones and greens she was displaying...

and all of those massive green feathers

very different color for me..

I Look forward to completing her

She was an older painting from last year..

She was calling out to me from the closet..

So out she came..

I began working on her again..

And this newest lady in pink..

on a vibrant patterened chair...

How Id love to sit in that!

I often find it curious that I paint ladies

that are soooo different from me...

I think I am drawn to their colorful souls and free spirits

have always intrigued me...

They have often apeared in my dreaming world..

Even loved ones across the veil

are carrying them..

I have an Umbrella that used to belong to my Grandmother

and it means alot to me...

It has been a constant symbol in my waking and dreaming world..

passing through worlds and veils with the magic of a parasol!

I love Parasols and Umbrellas..

They seem Magical to me

Painted Poems:The Journey of Painting: One day she will Vanish

Painting takes me

into a space

where stillness blooms
beyond
colors

where the quiet

sings poems from the deep

Where words translate

into a Lullaby
of Creation

where wounds bend into light

and are healed

where love is awake

and I keep falling inside of it

painting is like music

I had never known...

and sound cannot be defined

and the song is like
a hidden bird

... alive in the heart always

Painting is like listening to the Invisible..

Like a secret language...

I hear it clearly

each time I hold a paintbrush

And time bends and drifts
into an Unknowable Place

and takes me under
a wing

where all things Once lived,

died

and began again

In the faces... I see the Infinite

In the eyes I see oneness and connection

They look back at me..

and I feel touched

by the threads
of my fringed soul

fastening itself....back together again

My heart longs to sleep next to them..

so that I may hear
an Invisible Truth

that has not yet passed through the brush

like a secret ....still sleeping inside the canvas

hoping to awaken it..

so that I too may Become

like a painting..

disappearing inside of it

so that I may be

immortal..

so that I may be
free
and reborn
again and again.

So that I may
one day

You appeared upon my shoulder..

full of scratches and lines..

A ghost from within...

your feathers bloomed

you were once invisible...

yet I knew you were there somehow

You were made of blue tears and white snow

poems from the deep

where I traveled alone..

and then I marveled at the sight of you

changing into black lightening

purple mystic hues

you transformed me..

you set me free from the inside...

so now

I do the same for you..

be free..

I am not alone now..

I have been cloaked in the safety of black wings

Gifts given to me

I wear feathers of wisdom

beauty and magic..

feathers of empowered light guide me

Here is how she began..

I wasn't sure who I was painting..

I thought it was another lady

with a large fancy hat...

A young child..pure and serene

Suddenly

Aquamarines..antique white and cream colors..

and soft sage green

against blazing red

The painting coming to life..

She began to shift..

her face more developed

older... but stilll a beautiful soul

a parrot perches on her headdress

Blue Roses adorn her..

Colors are building

I love how I never quite know

where a painting will go...

I follow with my brush.. like a child..bewildered

Painted Sketches in amber...

There is something I love about the beginning seeds..

a simple face..sketching and painting them..is exciting for me..

A soft pink glow beside her amber skintones..

and almond eyes..

I often find that I like sketches more ...

than finished paintings..

She is soft... and becoming more illuimnated..

Still Becoming...I may leave her this way for now..
I love things in an "unfinished state"...not sure why...but I just do..
I think they are more vulnerable and beautiful in that place.

Sofia and her Russian Blue: And Other paintings in progress

On the easel..

Sofia

This is how she began

a backdrop of peach hues

flowers floating beneath the surface

her hair suddenly full of life

a cat in her arm

her energy beginning to come to life..

her face began to shift alittle

the more I painted

( I was surprised how much..that is why I love to take photos

as they Shapeshift)

she holds a Russian Blue

also painted in blues..

( I have always wanted a Russian Blue too)

Glazes of Red in her hat

like fire

against the apricot backdrop

I crave Orange Sorbet or some mangoes as i paint.

...It must be the colors!

Though not complete...I look forward to finishing her

she will look nice with Tatiana and her cat!

Remember her..

Tatiana holding Cat

She began to come to life..

Her hat..blue dress..and aquamarine mists all around

This color palette was very soft and light for me..

I love how each painting can show you and teach you many new things..

and how to experience colors in different ways

I think his name is Caspar

her beloved creature and friend

her face needs a bit more work/shading

and perhaps Caspar a bit too..

(he has no whiskers yet! )

I think her name is Tatiana

I think she is carrying a cat..

A new passenger in the backdrop

And a new one in progress..

They are having lunch outside near a pond.

A ghostly lady in the backdrop with a peacock

Lisette and the Fortune Teller

Meet Lisette..

as I painted her..

I felt a pull to the background of the canvas..

Lisette was not the only one in this painting

Lisette and the Fortune Teller

Lisette is filled with magic.

She is vibrant with life and feels Empowered with the Wisdom

she has recieved from the Old Fortune Teller

Lisette feels Transformed by the knowledge

and begins to shine brightly into all colors of Autumn

She has just had her reading...

and is now off to bring

the Old Russian lady

some hot tea to keep her warm

They have become friends over time

and Lisette looks to her as a Loving, Wise Aunt

Lisette has even made and sewn for her

her beautiful tablecloth and clothes you see in the backdrop

They are both kindred spirit and friends

The old Russian lady is Spirited and Wise

and offers insights and guidance..only when most divine

she is now doing another reading in the background...

It is a beautiful Autumn day

and the season full of Transformation and Magic

The color palette in this painting really caught me by surprise

..I found it odd at first

I wasn't sure how they would come together..but poof..they did!

I love surprises when I paint...how about you?

The Forest Heart and the Rabbit Lord

The Forest Heart

An older painting, back on the easel..Work-in-progress

I dedicate this painting to my older brother,

who has always looked out for me

even in the dream world, he always shows up

when I am in need of help , lost or afraid

there he is......Like a Guide leading me to safety

My brother is super- kind, a generous spirit, funny and awesome..an amazing artist

and as an older brother he is protective and powerful to me!

All the beloved men in my life seem to appear to me.. as Tree Spirits

and often come through my paintings in this way!

Although this doesn't look like my brother, the gentle spirit he carries does..

I am the red bird,

The cardinal tucked safely in the tree..

there is a bluejay feather beside me

A symbol of Spirit

and a symbol of the Guide my brother is to me

in the dreamworld and the waking world

The red heart..where my heart always remains

I seem to belong in the Forest

it is where I feel Home is.

* This painting is also a Nature Meditation..

I will share another time

Alot of my paintings are like

Symbolic Journeys you can travel into

His face is adorned in twigs, feathers

and leaves of All colors..

he offers them to whoever he meets.

they each carry a gift

and a message for you to recieve

feel free to grab a feather or leaf...

The Forest-heart knows you and what is in your heart

and will share with you whatever is most divine

In Canada

we have stunning maple trees..with magificent gorgeous colors

In this painting I also made sure to get the fall leaves, the colors

that both my nephew and neice told me they love

Reds and oranges and when orange is "just about" to turn!

So that is for them!

The leaves and acorns still need to be finished

I look forward to this piece being done!

Awakening Autumn's Spirit

The Veil of Autumn

has opened

The Birth of Autumn's Spirit

is blooming..

I have awakened him from a dusty sleep

in the deep earth

he tells me stories and secrets

of Beauty, of life and of transformation

of death and birth
of a new world

A wise spirit speaking to the leaves

and shifting the earth in colors

of light to dark

from amber to ash

till it is time once again

to rest

and go to sleep

Autumn's Veil shall close

and I too shall disappear

inside the beautiful magic

weaving me

into Winter's breath

Awaken the Magic

energies of my Italian ancestors and the energy of Aradia

Energy of the Wise Woman

Woman who were Wise with Knowledge

were considered powerful, dangerous
and feared long ago...

many lives were taken...

the burning times haunt my heart
and scrape wounds out from my soul

Many woman , men and children
were tortured or killed

for being different

wise

magical

for being enchanted
with nature..healing, herbs and medicines

for being creative
and unique

for having the spirit to be Free

This beautiful woman reminds me

of the wise power

we all hold Within

She is holding a powerful giant Red Egg of Creation

blooming from her Heart..
it holds the wisdom

of ancient and future knowledge

It carries the Powers of Creation and secrets of the Cosmos

to be a witch..

is...

to be Wise

to be Awake

to be One with the Universe, the Cosmos

nothing to be feared...

but...

to be celebrated

I Celebrate the wise spirit
in you...

and in me

The Gift we carry now
in this time and space..

..to be free

to fully be who we are

and be different
and walk our own unique path

without fear

This spiritually heals the wounds of the past

and ignites the soul and spirits

of those before us

with new life..freedom..

with healing

Simple Sketches: Lady at Gate

Sketching stirs the imagination...

A Lady comes forward

dressed in charcoal

and the beginnings of wet paint

a vintage glow begins to surround her

Time passes...and more is revealed..

She is the

Lady at the Gate

I sense..

One last goodbye

One last look..

She seems sad in her gaze..

yet also..strong and spirited

I sense a vibrant wave coming forward..

an intuitive ripple...

of color...

She begins to transform

Her spirit more bold and bright now..

a new world sparks within her..

the world ahead seems bright

and full of life..

Yet I still remember how

she first came through

simple..pure

quiet

and

still

a gentle soul...

Sketching is like

building stories..and weaving in threads...

they always drawn me in..

bending my mind with curiosity

....even for a small moment

Another Passenger: The Blind Man

The Blind Man

A Gentle Soul

His gaze peaceful

a yellow canary upon his shoulder

guiding him on his way

As I painted him..

to my surprise

he was indeed

a Passenger...

I sense he is a blind man..

yet his beautiful soulful eyes draw me in..

as though he is staring right at me

In his arms

he holds Fresh Egglant..a Large decadent Sunflower

and a single bold Peach

Does he know Lady Sunflower perhaps?

Have they met?

A Work in Progress...
He travels on the train...a small bottle of beautiful red wine nearby..
I can hear the clanking of glassware, people chattering and the smell of fresh fruit. My sense of hearing feels heightened with all the details

I couldn't seem to finish Lady Sunflower

There was something missing

So I put her away...

Late one night...the scent of peaches calling me again

a glass of red wine..

I began to paint..

This man took form on the canvas.

At first I thought I was painting

yet another lady with a feathered hat

To my surprise..it was a man's face appearing...

I was smitten and intrigued.

I then realized he was connected to the train

and a passenger as well!

They are still both

Works in Progress

I am excited to finish their stories

and maybe perhaps there will be even more

passengers one day..

a room full would be most magical..

a living train of paintings!

I have been obsessed with peaches lately..

I think you can tell..

an immortal spell has cast it's glow upon me..

soft pinks..

like Rose Quartz ..

The Essence of Love and Healing

A Tear falling..and a Raven's Whisper..

A matching tear on the young girl

The Sun shining..

I realize the Sun

is blooming and awakening

from inside the Raven's Back

Like a sacred vessel...carrying the promise of the sun

This is the raven's Gift...the Magical Sun

The Girl wears a Painted Mask..

she feels familiar to me in some way..

Matching tears

yet a feeling

of Empowerment

A sense of Magic and Strength

Her hair begins to ripple out...all in dark curls..

her energy expressive, creative and full of life

The Angel with Rose Quartz wings..

seems to want to wear Vibrant Reds

I do as she wishes..

Her gaze captivates me

Like there is something she wants to tell

or..there is something

that I should know..

her hair morphing into vibrant blues

The Raven

pulling a tress of hair from the Angel

Transformation

Transmutation

Healing

Reweaving

Reconnecting

All Three Sacred Beings

seem powerful in their own way...

they each offer powerful gifts..
