Drawing in pen has been an obsession lately..
weaving lines and curves..
not knowing where they will go
..out came this sweet soul
his head a little cone shaped....ha ha
but that is what makes drawing in pen so exciting..
no erasers to fall back on
your mark.....it is there ..like it or not..
reweave and keep creating..
*
It is much like the spirit of life..
moving, flowing...shifting..
and becoming..
no rewrites or turning back..
drawing in pen..is like that!
*
it is alive.....ink is set like stone..
and wherever you find yourself
there you are
you are awake in creation
your mark is permanent
keep flowing.. this is the power of ink!
(after taking this picture..I laughed..
not realizing the butterfly wing..)
I named him Kismet
He feels like an old soul..from another time..

Spring is almost here..

hello Victoria, i do so like your fantastic drawings, i simply love o your vintage rabbit,it's wonderful, the expression in those eyes, the body language, somehow it's easier for me to get into the mood and story of your drawings and watercolors then your paintings.
maybe the wealth and abundance of your palette distracts me, maybe it's the intensity of the paintings that kind of grabs me too fast (this is purely my personal experience dear Victoria) your drawings and watercolours although they are much softer they do have a deep touching strenght and mystery, they are more accessible and easier to look at for me and it's a joy to look at them. xx
hi Victoria-)
i like youR drawing og the cute rabbit very mutch. He is different and very interesting.his eyes look like philosopher!!!
And i like the sad rabbit too-)))
Εven the birds are fantastic, as is the girl that the bird forms the hair.A great idea, bravo!!!!
i send a lot of kisses +hug
Christa-))))
Victoria, your ability to draw and sketch is amazing. I like your rabbits and birds. What freedom and fun doing them must have been there for you! Your Blue Raven Seer is a gorgeous watercolor with the softness that that medium provides. Just beautiful.
Renilde

HI Faye.. you are truly wonderful..thanks for such kind and beautiful words..I so appreciate it! I think I have fallen back in love with drawing( it is all I did as a child)..yet I have never really felt i was good at it( I always watched my older siblings draw brilliantly and admired them)..so i am happy to follow this thread and see where it takes me..it has been fun to explore!
Hugs and wishing you a happy day!

Beautiful art, beautiful words.
Raven's Soul-Wheel will be stunning when it's finished!
so much beautiful work, so detailed, so much love you put in your work, amazing, you are so correct about ink, you have committed once pen touches paper, done deal,
Oh my goodness, Victoria! These are just astounding! They have such depth and beauty. The young rabbit and the old hare are wonderful - I did notice the butterfly wing right away! And the two raven inkings - so magnificent! Enjoy a beautiful Sunday!
Hi again Victoria -- I'm glad you enjoyed my post on Vivian Maier and that it resonated with you. Your insights into her creative nature are very interesting!
These are absolutely enchanting! They look so very vintage and have such character! I love the rabbit AND the raven too! WOW!
Oh Victoria, I'm in love with Kismet he is the sweetest rabbit I've seen. You know I looove the birds and your water coloring is coming along fantastic.. I feel the same way when I create (not draw I can't :)) I usually have a idea and just let it flow.. Thanks for sharing all this creativity and inspire us, hope your having a great weekend..
Wow, this is something I've not seen from you before and I LOVE it! Your rabbit and raven are absolutely brilliant sketches! Well done. :) Hugs
Your rabbit is so much wanting to be cuddled by some one, I wish I could!
The raven is mind blowing , your hand obviously draws perfect lines that don't need rewrites, that result in such magnificent pieces, great talent I must admit and I admire..
N I never thought of pen drawing this way, comparing to the spirit of life.. How true.. So isn't it best when we make sure we are doing our best for every situation that we come across, that never will be a mistake, never to be regretted. Loved this post Victoria!
The detail in this pieces is fantastic - you are such a prolific artist with a wonderful eye for presentation too - and I loved the accidental butterfly wing - I'm sure Kismet did too - he can fly above the fields!
oh I love that 'kismet'...do you know what it means ?? LUCK !!
and I do agree with you about drawing with pen ...when I am doing it I really don't know what is in my kismet:) but I do love surprises and that is what charms me when I do my sketches with pens !!

Hola Victoria has creado las sombras de tus dibujos formando claros y oscuros como tu bien dices creando curvas y lineas. Es un trabajo brillante, de una gran maestría. El conejo es sensacional como todas tus creaciones.
Un abrazo
Lovely pen sketches, loving all the fine details! Thanks for you nice comment today Victoria!
WOW!!! Your pen and ink work is incredible. As if I didn't think you were brilliant already, you go and post these to bowl me over.

Omg. the sketches of the vintage
rabbit are amazing.
He has strong human qualities
and the picture with the butterfly
wing is truly amazing.
I so enjoyed you sharing
your sketches, I love painting
but sketches were always my
secret love.
You made me smile once again
Victoria.

Both your bunnies, to me, make me think of old wise souls! So precious! Your raven drawings are stunning! The feeling I get is something I just can't explain! Gorgeous my friend! Big Hugs ;o)
Victoria! Your sketches take my eyes on a journey and give my spirit some adventure! Beautiful and magical! I am in awe :)
Hello Victoria, I love your drawings with pen and I like what you have said about it. We are on the same wave I drew with pen and ink during the weekend and I will post the drawings soon. You are right - there´s no corrections, no way back - it´s very authentic. I also love your watercolor in progress. Have a lovely week! Hugs.M.
How wonderful that we both drew rabbits this week! I am starting a bunny hop on Thursday for spring and hope you'll stop by to link this up.
Your bunnies are creepy cool - have you ever seen Donnie Darko? Frank is definitely an old soul from another time, like Kismet. I love that photographing him with wings was an accident. ^.^
Beautiful ravens, too - I can't wait to see the wheel finished.

Art Update: White Rabbit Drawing
That vintage rabbit is simply amazing... the line work is gorgeous and it looks like his fur is rippling... just wonderful...xx
Wow- your pen drawings are amazing and yes there is no going back. I love that whatever comes is that moment's expression. As artists we always want to "tweak" and "work" on our pieces so I find these drawings inspirational and empowering Victoria. Journal pages are kind of like that for me too.
Fabulous as always,
Lori
Amazing! How brave to work in ink! I particularly love the last one with the rabbit hugging the woman...
Oh, I love those drawings, the style is really interesting.
