hidden from the world
but she is finding courage
to set her self free
she has always stayed in the dark
weaving poems, writing songs
and playing the music of the trees
she has always known her worth
but felt compelled to stay Hidden
she is breaking through
and feeling the sunlight
She knows she Belongs even if she has never
quite "fit in" anywhere
Her empowered space is her Own
she is finding courage to bring it all to the open space
she is finding peace and finding home
she must shed the bark she wears around her Heart
and even the birds tell her to fly
and talk to the world again
The Red Sunflowers speak and fill her with the Passion
to feel the sun again, to speckle her pale mask

sometimes we hide from the world
sometimes from fear, sometimes from habit
sometimes we lock away who we are
from others and the world
we dilute our light, we do not shine
sometimes we need inner strength
sometimes we have forgotten ourselves
sometimes we feel unworthy of love
And sometimes we Know our worth but still hold back
sometimes going Inward and Being Still
is Perfect and Divine
and sometimes it becomes too deepset
and we shut out the world....and disappear
In my life there have been times where I have shut off myself
from the Outside World
At times this was Divine and Healing
others times it became isolating and unbalanced
This painting brought me to a place where I acknowledged
those times where I knew it no longer felt right to Stay Hidden
and it was time to celebrate my inner spirit
and let that part of me be free to shine and be Revealed
Sometimes we need courage to show who we are
especially when we know it is not the "norm"
or what others are used to
sometimes we feel different ...
but there are many out there who are the same
and waiting to break free
There are times when I hid away or diluted my Light..
not truly showing up fully in life..and there came a point
where that began to feel very wrong.
This painting is celebrating the idea of Breaking Through
from a Hidden Realm and Embracing yourself on the Outside world
and allowing others to Fully see you...
moving out from the darkness to the light.
There have been times where being out in the open space
has made me very uncomfortable and it was something that I needed to heal..
I got very used to hiding in the shadows
and felt more powerful being in the backdrop..
so challenging myself more and more to be out into the OPEN
is a place where my wings needed to feel empowered to find their way...
who have ever felt different..
or knew they needed to break through
..and feel the Outbreath of Life Flow through them
without trying to stop it's power..
we are often afraid of our empowered selves..
or even just allowing that to be seen..and claiming who we are
If you Know your Power or Light..do not hold it back..ever!
I look back on the times I did this..
I hope this painting brings you Joy, peace, empowerment..
Courage...letting yourself feel celebration for who you are
setting your spirit free
allowing yoursef to be All that you came here to be
and loving that unique journey you are on

When I first began painting this..It felt quite childlike..
and I had no idea what was coming through...
By the end of it I realized I had painted a part of myself..a part of me that was healing..
sometimes these paintings come through to acknowledge things in your life..I thanked the Girl in Bark for showing her self to me and what I once was...
Her message to me..was simple..To Feel the Harmony of being Free.
The girl has become so connected to the hidden world she has become like bark..she cuts herself off from people and relates more to the birds, creatures and trees and her inner world
She has forgotten her connection to the outside world to a point
where it became unhealthy. She has caged herself.
She needs to see her value in the open space
and not just in the hidden space.

The Red Mexican Sunflowers are vibrant, passionate
and full of the Dance of life..coaxing her out in the sunlight...
turning her hair red with creative passion and the Fire of Life.
...the bird shows her what freedom feels like and reminds her of her Song..
The Sun comes down to greet her..
and offering her Divine sun-seeds of the light to nourish her
and bring even more Empowerment.
This painting wishes to bring harmony..
and to set yourself free again and again...
especially when it is hard..set yourself free..
there is truly nothing to fear in the open space.
We all have courage within us..
it is not something you have to find...
it is already there..just step out into the Light
and embrace the space, know that you Are Love.........
and there is nothing to ever fear when you remember that!
