Meet Sarafina
This is how Sarafina began
*
Painted Sketches in amber...
There is something I love about the beginning seeds..
a simple face..sketching and painting them..is exciting for me..
A soft pink glow beside her amber skintones..
and almond eyes..
I often find that I like sketches more ...
than finished paintings..
She is soft... and becoming more illuimnated..
Still Becoming...I may leave her this way for now..
I love things in an "unfinished state"...not sure why...but I just do..
I think they are more vulnerable and beautiful in that place.
Other Sketches in progress:
Lillian
and her cat..
Claudine
Black Sheep
and a large scale one..
End of Autumn, a Harvest Picnic
Although alittle hard to see...
I sense to keep this palette light and work slowly adding soft layers of light!
Painting smaller and with smaller details is challenging for me..
but I love to seek new adventures when painting and learn as I explore..
Wishing you all a beautiful week
Victoria
Happy Creating

It is magical!!!! I like it so much that cats popping up in your creations!!!! I also love things in an "unfinished state"!! I have couple of old sketches and several creations unfinished!! But i can understand why you like this "unfinished state" in sketches!!! Sarafina is sooo beautiful!!!!!

Your sketches are so wonderful and you are so talented ~ love your style more and more ~ thanks, namaste, Carol ^_^ ~ Think about posting on my Magical Monday Blog Hop at http://www.acreativeharbor.com/
Sarafina's face is so much more defined and beautiful now, especially the eyes!
such amazing expressions on each of their faces... mournful and serene... lovely
Very nice. Your style reminds of the masters, with a modern flair. I especially like Lilian.
Sarafina is so beautiful, Victoria! I adore her eyes, they are brilliant. So you know the South African story Sarafina?
...monday wishes dear victoria! ~ a window into your soul ~ i gaze with quiet peacefulness ~ upon the gentle spirit ~ whom resides within you ~ thankyou ~ for the gift of your sharing!...
...i bequeath a sonnet for thee...
They're all so very beautiful! Love seeing how much colour you begin with also! :)
Oh Victoria...so many beautiful faces full of emotions. You seem to show us a glimpse of the past, as if you saw it yourself. Claudia has such raw emotion... despair mixed with bitterness.
I know what you mean about loving the sketches, sometimes I am afraid to paint mine too. And I think these drawings could stand on their own...sometimes simplicity in color helps to convey their story.
But what do I know???
You are extraordinary. ♥♥♥
Sarafina is amazing. Your detail and shadowing is incredible. Thanks for sharing with us again.
Thanks for linking up on Magical Monday blog hop ~ your whole blog is magical ~ Enjoy the week ~ namaste, Carol ^_^
Great! you're working hard and well ... so many works in progress!. xo
Victoria, wow, you have a lot of paintings on the way! I have to admit to you, a lot of the times, I like the paintings, at the sketching state too, than when it is finished. Don't know why? Big Hugs ;o)
wow! your paintings are so amazing, I love to see what you are creating!
Hi Victoria! I was reading your comment on how you prefer unfinished sketches sometimes...
I totally agree with you.
You should follow your heart!
Sarafina is really beautiful and the basic colors you chose already give her a luminous quality. One of your best creations!
Wow, i just think your work is amazing...the light and all the emotion you capture....you are very inspiring!
These are beautiful painting sketches. Maybe I shouldn't call them sketches because that would mean they aren't the 'real thing' but my own faces that I paint don't have finished shadow or look realistic but I call them finished anyway. We the artists are the ones who decide if it's finished or not!;o)

Thank you for sharing these wonderful sketches. I completely agree with what you said about the works in process. I love to see each stage of a piece this way and have a record of how the inspiration/subject first manifests on paper or canvas...Great pics and a wonderful post, as always!
These are all so wonderful!!! I like the unfinished state, too. There's something very appealing about it.
Thankyou and hugs...every one of you leaves such beautiful words and inspiring comments...if i havent visited you yet or commented..I will visit soon..or email you ! HUgs kindreds..Thanks for your beautiful kind words always!
