Woman who were Wise with Knowledge
were considered powerful, dangerous
and feared long ago...

many lives were taken...
the burning times haunt my heart
and scrape wounds out from my soul
and scrape wounds out from my soul
*
Many woman , men and children
were tortured or killed
were tortured or killed
for being different
wise
magical
for being enchanted
with nature..healing, herbs and medicines
with nature..healing, herbs and medicines
for being creative
and unique
and unique
for having the spirit to be Free
This beautiful woman reminds me
of the wise power
we all hold Within
*
She is holding a powerful giant Red Egg of Creation
blooming from her Heart..
it holds the wisdom
it holds the wisdom
of ancient and future knowledge

*
It carries the Powers of Creation and secrets of the Cosmos
*
to be a witch..
is...
to be Wise
to be Awake
to be One with the Universe, the Cosmos
nothing to be feared...
but...
to be celebrated

I Celebrate the wise spirit
in you...
in you...
and in me

The Gift we carry now
in this time and space..
in this time and space..
..to be free
to fully be who we are
and be different
and walk our own unique path
and walk our own unique path
without fear

This spiritually heals the wounds of the past
and ignites the soul and spirits
of those before us
with new life..freedom..
with healing
and magic

and most of all
with Love
and Empowerment.

I will enjoy finishing La Bella Strega...
I wonder what she will teach me as I paint
the wisdom she holds in her heart..
I wonder if the Egg of Creation
will open and unveil a new world for me to explore..?

she's just mesmerizing,, those eyes!
This is beautiful and very witchy. All women have an inner witch whether they realize it or not. It is our intuition and our knowing. It is our right.
Dreamy eyes and beautiful curly hair! The Lady has it all.
Wonderful work Victoria! Am I mistaken or is there a little something of you in this persona? :)
She is beautiful my friend! And, I love what you wrote!

Oh, I wonder if the egg will open a new world for you too! :) The process of painting, "enchanting the invisible"--so magical, so transformative.
When you said the following:
" . . . herbs and medicines
for being creative and unique
for having the spirit to be Free"
I read it as if you were saying the herbs and natural medicines were persecuted for their unique creativity and for having the spirit to be free and while I realize you were saying it was the people who studied the herbs and medicines that were persecuted, I kind of feel like natural medicines and herbs have been burned as well and the freedom they can share with us buried. Anyway, I'm really enjoying learning (from my brother) about herbs and natural medicines (like comfrey) and the knowledge brings strength, health freedom. Growing our own herbs and plants is so liberating and reconnects with our relationship with the earth--carrying for tiny seedlings, tiny eggs of life unveiling their precious magic as they grow.
OK, went on a bit there. :)
I absolutely LOVE the way you've used red here. I normally associate with masculine energy, aggression, raw unhinged power. Here, you've shared red in a completely different light. It's feminine and the power is definitely strong, but not aggressive . . . confident only as nature can be, that is, it just is. I love it woven throughout her hair and clothing--connecting with the menstrual cycle? Claiming of the beauty of blood flow, life force. Here tranquil face brings home (for me) that sense of "being" just as she should be--a sort of power that does not have an ego?
I like how the back of her hair show a glowing light source, but her face seems to radiate a glow too--the hair roots glowing a little as well. She is a source of light?
I really enjoyed spending time with your painting. Thank you for sharing her with us and I look forward to see her again one day when you have completed her. :)
Thankyou everyone fot such beautiful comments...I cannot wait to visit and see what you are all up to!

My dear Kiki, back from a very long break and so anxious to enter your magical world! This Bella Strega is just that: molto bella! Great work, filled with your amazing sensitivity. Sending you hugs and wishes for a magical season XO
Que bella la Strega! She is enchanting, love the red highlights in her hair and the intriguing strokes in the back left corner. You're so awesome because you make even your unfinished paintings look like masterpieces :)
The burning times have cast their wounds upon my soul and have prevented me from revealing my true self as a strega for much of my entire life. I remain solitary and work daily to shed these fears/wounds as I learn to shine my light and inspire others to live their fullest.
Your words inspire to be free and fully who we are...So essential, yet not always easy! May we have the courage to be ourselves...
Your work is beautiful! Looking forward to seeing the completed masterpiece :)
...Bless!...
Beautiful words and painting, i love the sparkling energy coming from the red egg and how she cherish it, close to her heart.
Great colours too dear Victoria and always those mesmerizing eyes xx

Wow..thankyou for such a mega-beautiful response and sharing all your insitghs and feelings and wisdom! I love what you wrote about the reds and the symbology..you totally tapped into such wonderful connections adding to this piece...i felt the same things about the blood/moon cycles etc..spot on!.!Yes red..it is a strong powerful color..but there is a beautiful creational side to it..and I love it..especially when painting!
we are such kindreds..i too have a great love wiht herbs and natural medicines..i know what you mean..some of that is lost..but also so much has been empowered too..and there is so much knowledge to tap into and learn . It is wonderful you are learning from your brother..I love using herbs and plants and flowers for all kinds of natural things..and my garden gives so much healing and gifts to me in so mnay forms..so I know what you mean! And also..I feel we empower that hidden knowledge...by practising it now..it will resurface and as you create with that realm of nature it brings it to life and you will discover even more! Yay..happy you also enjoy growing your own herbs and stuff..powerful!
Thanks for this mega-awesome response and sharing your insights with me!
hugs friend!

She is absolutely lovely, Victoria. She looks to be full of wisdom and peace. I love the soft shades you used for her and the background against the bright redness (life!) of the egg. Beautiful!!!! Happy weekend to you, dear friend.
Love your wise woman painting!
So much wonderful rhythm and movement in it!

Your painting is very powerful ~thanks, namaste, Carol (Share the Creative Journey) HPPF ^_^
A wonderful combination ~ wisdom and beauty! She has both, and this makes her powerful!
It's heartbreaking that so many were stopped from spreading their goodness and healing by torture and death. Small minded people were threatened by their power and called them witches, as if this was a bad word!
I love your words as well as your beautiful art!
Oh wow Victoria you have so much talent to match your beautiful magical imaginations and your words are always so inspirational. Am so in love with this painting already.
Thank you for visiting me. Since you came I spilt boiling hot coffee over my modem which has rendered it useless, so am not a happy bunny, but seeing your wonderful artwork has totally lifted my spirits. Hugs Annette x
Beautiful painting, Victoria.
Stunning work, love the rich colors~ It truly looks magical and enchanting!

Isn't this exciting? I can't wait to see what she reveals and what the egg has to show us. Love this piece! Happy PPF~ xo
Victoria is a good witch ... I like how you get she looks sweet and deep eyes.
The colors red, backed by the blue, give it that exotic air. Congratulations and hugs
Magical, mystical and gorgeous...your work is amazing and very inspiring for sure! Love it! POP ART MINIS
Beyond gorgeous, thanks for sharing Jenny
nice to meet your beautiful 'witch' and to know her story.
This is so touching and speaks to me on so many levels. I totally relate to everything you wrote. And she is a beautiful witch indeed!
When I look at your page I feel at home! Valerie
Hi Kiki, Magical, enchanting & stunning colors and details. Love her! xo Theresa
I feel as if I already knew her, as if we had met somewhere ... some time.
Somebody was painting red eggs today at my painting class. She (who is an out and out wise woman) was using something that looked like liquid glass. It was mesmerizing.
My mom who is almost 80 is going back to who she truly is and we are having a lovely time with her now confiding in me her stories.
a very powerful painting... yes
Your paintings are gorgeous. I love the quizzical and worried expressions that you have captured, truly delightful work! Happy Paint Party Friday! ~Robin Panzer Art Studio 33
she is gorgeous deep and wise, such a treasure to behold. wishing you precious revelations as you breathe life into her.
She has great hair, but she looks a bit sad. Again, stunning colors.
Beautiful painting, wise lady :)
Wow, she is beautiful, as is this post!
Kiki your words are so encouraging and ring true with my inner knowing! I love the symbolism in your beautiful painting of the egg and giving birth to new creations of the heart! I know I paint sometimes too with the intention of the painting being a prayer or affirmation of our inner strength that comes from the Universal Source and runs through all that exists! Big hugs to you! Deb
She is beautiful and I love your story that goes with her. Happy PPF!
She is clasping the egg so firmly, yet gently, she inspires and encourages me with her sense of wonder.
She is divine...I can only imagine how beautiful she is in the flesh! I always love seeing what you have been up to...pure magic x
Thank you for continuing to share your magic with us! It is always a pleasure to see your beautiful paintings and read your wonderful stories :)
